Recieved the Grand Prize of Setouchi Triennale 2013
The conquest of the world – be it by car, at school, at the library, on vacation, at the supermarcket, at the museum, at the beach etc….
Painters and visual artists - such as Nikki de Saint Phalle, Erwin Wurm, Jean Dubuffet… or Keith Haring - invented a way of looking at the body. While creating THE INFLATED and their dances, it is as if we wanted to swallow some of these ways of seeing the body, but a new live and inventive body was born during this procedure of creative distortion.
The dance performance THE INFLATED has to do with the idea of body norms. THE INFLATED are new beings who incite us to look at the world differently.
In these bodies, covered in latex, inflated, huge and off scale, these humans face up to the world and redefine humanity. This is the way we wish to see them in their encounter with our contemporary world. Between abstraction, dreams and critical realism, we wish to bring the public towards confrontation and thought, in order to see the world differently.
